Florian Grill wanted to react following the proposal of the federal office to choose Patrick Buisson as delegate president of the FFR. The tenor of the opposition to Bernard Laporte is in favor of holding a referendum and encourages amateur clubs to vote “against the candidate imposed” by the former coach.
Florian Grill and Oval together continue the fight. After the choice of the federal office to propose Patrick Buisson as delegate president of the FFR, the leader of the opposition to Laporte accepts the principle of a referendum to elect, or not, Patrick Buisson as the new president delegate to the federation. In an exclusive interview granted to Midi Olympique, Florian Grill detailed his strategy regarding future deadlines.
“We obviously respect the principle of setting up a referendum since it was proposed by the Minister of Sports Amélie Oudéa-Castera and by the ethics and professional conduct committee of the FFR. We are legalistic. But we think that the clubs must vote against the candidate imposed on us by Bernard Laporte, whoever he is. Because if the candidate is rejected in the referendum, there will necessarily be a general election”.
The referendum validated by the Minister of Sports
At the end of December, Amélie Oudéa-Castéra had validated the process “subject to democratic validation by the clubs, according to an irreproachable process and a precise and rapid timetable”. The Leader of the Opposition also made a point of responding to the accusations of Alexandre Martinezthe treasurer of the FFR, denouncing “opportunistic behavior to seize power”.
“I don’t need rugby to live or to exist. I created my business 28 years ago, I am a man of resilience and long-term investment. I don’t feel concerned by this kind about and I do not want to feed this kind of controversy. She does not honor rugby. I fight ideas, not men ” explains Florian Grill.
